BS4142 - BS 4142

Here at ANV Measurement Systems all industrial noise assessments that we carry out are done so in conjunction with BS4142. This is the British Standard for rating both industrial and commercial noises that are brought into areas that are both residential and industrial.

The BS 4142 requires us to take an assessment of the ambient noise levels that already exist before any new industrial equipment is installed. This could be for a wide range of industrial equipment such as air con units, generators, condensers, fume extraction systems, fans and much more.

Once background noise assessments are carried out BS4142 then provides guidance in predicting noise at the nearest locations that will be most sensitive.

After following BS4142 guidelines we will assess if complaints are going to be made and then we will provide clients with a strategic plan that will suitable, but follows the demands of BS 4142, any local authority and of course the client.
