The next best thing to a long-term attended survey is a long-term unattended noise survey with audio recording. This enables you to measure the noise levels over an extended period of time cost-effectively and to know what gave rise to the measured noise levels.

The ANV Measurement Systems Standard and Enhanced Long-Term Noise Kits can provide audio recording capability by incorporating the Rion NL-32 (Class 1) or 22 (Class 2) with the Rion NX-22J Audio Recording Option. This enables audio to be recorded of events which exceed a threshold and/or periodic audio 'snapshots' of the noise environment for the confident identification of events and noise sources during unattended surveys. The data is, of course, available for direct import into spreadsheets but the Rion AS-60 software can be really useful to help you quickly review the audio recordings and level data to isolate and analyse specific events for inclusion or exclusion from your analysis.

Audio recording can equally be incorporated into Rion NA-28 based long-term systems by using the Rion NX-28WR Audio Recording Option. This enables audio to be recorded of events which exceed a threshold (either in terms of overall level or the level in a specific octave or third octave band) and/or periodic audio 'snapshots' of the noise environment for the confident identification of events and noise sources during unattended surveys. The data is, of course, available for direct import into spreadsheets and the calibrated wav files available for replay with a standard media player but the Rion NA-28PA1 software can be really useful to help you quickly review the audio recordings and level data to isolate and analyse specific events for inclusion or exclusion from your analysis.

Audio recording is also available with Rion's Permanent Noise Monitors for Aircraft Noise and Environmental Noise.
