The Profound Vibra series of Vibration Meters are specifically designed for construction and demolition site work in accordance with BS 5228: Part 2 and BS 7385 Part 2. The monitors log peak particle velocity (PPV) and dominant frequency and the measurement period is user-selectable. The Vibra long-term kit includes a weather-resistant case to make continuous monitoring of construction/demolition vibration a practical reality to which the Vibra+ adds alarm and data e-mails via an on-board GPRS modem for off-site notification of the exceedance of limits and remote access to data. These instruments have amazing battery life (up to 4 weeks on 3 alkaline D cells) and the data is logged against the real time clock in the instruments’ huge memory. Measurements can be taken continuously or only during user-specified periods and/or only above a user-specified vibration level. The instruments can also save the waveforms of the highest, (up to) nine noise events per hour.

The Rion VM-54 and VX-54WB1 Whole Body Vibration program are ideal for measuring vibration levels in accordance with BS 6472. The system directly measures and logs Vibration Dose Values with all the current applicable weightings (user selectable). The VM-54 long-term kit includes a weather-resistant case and gel cell batteries. It’s as simple as leaving a sound level meter out for a long-term survey. With the data stored to compact flash in the form of a comma separated variable text file you can open it directly into excel via a card reader.

If you prefer to store the raw vibration signals for post-processing you can use the DA-20 or DA-40 for recording the raw waveforms as multichannel wav files. You can use up to 3 charge accelerometers with the DA-20 (via the VP-80 3 channel charge amp), up to 4 CCLD accelerometers directly into the DA-20 or up to 8 CCLD accelerometers directly into the DA-40. You can also use CCLD microphones with the DA-20 or DA-40 for recording simultaneous noise and vibration signals.
