Precision microphone set for general, high frequency and/or high SPL free-field measurements
The GRAS 46BE is a precision, free-field, CCLD, ¼” pre-polarised microphone set for measuring high frequency and/high sound pressure levels. Up to 20 kHz the GRAS 46BE can be used as a free-field, pressure or random incidence microphone set. For accurate measurements up to 100 kHz (± 3 dB) the protection grid should be removed (but it can be kept in place for accurate measurements up to 20 kHz).
The GRAS 48BE is a really useful microphone for situations where acoustic requirements go beyond the normal limitations of a standard ½” microphone (i.e. sound pressure levels above 138 dB and/or frequencies in excess of 20 kHz). The physically small size of the Gras 46BE can also be helpful where restricted space is an issue and/or the direction of arrival of sounds is difficult to determine.
The GRAS 40BE microphone is widely used across many sectors including automotive (NVH), aerospace, defence (the high sound pressure level capability is particularly useful for gunfire measurements), mobile and stationary plant and product testing. The high frequency capabilities of the GRAS 40BE make it well-suited to measurements on scale models.
